In the interest of about 5 million people suffering from rheumatic diseases in Germany alone, an investigation has been carried out into the effectiveness and harmlessness of treatment with radon, a radioactive noble gas, in therapeutic inhalation baths and tunnels.

Imura study: lasting pain relief with radon therapy

The members of the EURADON association, including the Radon Revital Bad in St. Blasien Menzenschwand, conducted an International Radon Study (IMuRa) from May 2009 to autumn 2010 on the effectiveness of radon treatment series on chronic pain of the musculoskeletal system. This study was carried out exclusively with the association's own financial resources.

Project outline for a study on rheumatoid arthritis - Baradon study

As part of a research initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg, the Radon Revital Bad participated in a research project led by Professor Dr. Jens Thiel of the Clinic for Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University Hospital Freiburg im Breisgau. The title of the project is

"Next-generation B-cell analysis to predict the onset of rheumatoid arthritis in at-risk individuals and evaluate the effect of early therapeutic intervention with radon baths (BARADON study)". The implementation of the study is planned for the period 2020-2022.

Composition of medicinal sources

The two thermal springs of the Radon Revital Bad, the Martin Spring and the Barbara Spring, are located at 2,700 metres in the Krunkelbach valley. You can see the water analysis in the following document.
